One of Derby’s biggest exports is Royal Crown Derby Pottery, which is one of the few original fine bone China manufacturers that still remains in Britain today. Ted took inspiration from the famous Fine Bone China 'Mikado' style (blue & white) and switched this with Ted’s own UK landscapes.
Ted also plays homage to the place where the hotdog was born. As the hotdog was not an American idea; derby-born Harry Stevens invented the hotdog, and so there’s an oversized version with a Ted fine bone China print behind the till point as a focal point. A nod to pottery can also be seen in the custom-made tables that are a unique product which includes recycled pieces of pottery from the factory whose elements would typically be thrown to waste, including cup handles that can be seen in the terrazzo.
