In 1988 San Jose was declared as the 'capital of Silicon Valley'by the city major.
Silicon Valley has birthed the tech industries of the future, with trail blazers having humble beginnings from their home garages. In Britain, the garden shed is a comparative space to the garage where many famous brands begun.
The interior of the store takes inspiration from sheds, their shape, materials, and construction. Materials include timber frames, metal work in playful colours, and stone (to add decoration).
All elements, including fitting rooms were built off site and treated like installations in the space. The existing concrete floor was retained. Bold colour blocking and bespoke vintage tech props create an element of theatre within the space.
